The Super Bowl isn’t the biggest sporting event because it features the two best teams in the NFL. It’s not because winning the Super Bowl is career-defining for the players and coaches. It’s not because rabid fan bases wait years to win a Lombardi Trophy, like Kansas City Chiefs fans did, waiting 50 years for this current run of success.
It’s because, along with it being the biggest football game of the season, it’s the biggest spectacle in all of American sports. Celebrities in attendance, A-list halftime performers, this year the President will attend, and of course, there are the commercials. At Super Bowl parties all across the country, talking during the game is fine, as long as you are silent when Madison Avenue rolls out its biggest ads of 2025.
Top Commercial Prop Bets
You can bet on almost anything on Super Bowl Sunday, and that includes the television commercials that sold for a record $8 million for 30 seconds. USA Today’s Ad Meter is the place for voting on your favorite Super Bowl commercial, and you can bet on which of the featured commercials will finish No. 1
Coors Light and its sloth-like Monday is the pregame favorite, paying +400. Hellmans, which features Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan reprising their roles from When Harry Met Sally, is at +500. Nerds candy takes over Bourbon Street, and that commercial is paying +600.
The other beer commercials aren’t too far behind the favorites. Stella Artois is paying +700, Bud Light is at +800, and Budweiser is +1400. It will be the 47th Super Bowl ad featuring the iconic Clydesdale horses, and this Budweiser ad is called “First Delivery.”
Big possible paydays are with Dunkin’ Donuts at +5000, Doritos at +5000, and Häagen-Dazs at +6600.
Last year, State Farm’s commercial featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger finished No. 1 in USA Today’s Ad Meter, and the Dunkin’ Donuts ad with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, and Tom Brady was the runner-up.
Super Bowl LIX Announcer Prop Bets
Tom Brady will be a much larger part of the broadcast this time around, as he calls his first Super Bowl with Fox Sports. He has been wagered-on many times and in many Super Bowls, but not quite like this.
What will be the primary color of Brady’s tie? Blue is the current favorite, paying +175. Grey is at +300, red is +600, and black, pink, yellow, and green are all paying +1200.
Brady’s partner in the booth is Kevin Burkhart, and you can bet on what will be said first by either of the two broadcasters – “Let’s Go” or “GOAT” — with “Let’s go” as the -190 favorite, with GOAT (greatest of all-time) lagging behind at +145.
Will we see Super Bowl highlights of Tom Brady during Sunday’s broadcast? He played in 10 Super Bowls, making him hard to avoid, but “No” is the current favorite at -200.
Will Brady criticize the officiating during the game? “No” is the heavy favorite at -300, and as part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, one of his NFL ownership no-nos is to publicly criticize the referees.
Super Bowl LIX Broadcast Prop Bets
Along with the two men calling the game, there are more than 100 cameras on hand at the Super Bowl to broadcast the action, as well as the crowd.
Jason Kelce, a retired Philadelphia Eagle legend and brother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, will be at the game, and you are going to see him on camera. The over/under on how many times we see the older Kelce is 2.5.
What will he do first – chug a beer or take off his shirt? He’s done both at Chiefs games when he is in attendance supporting his brother, and it’s a toss-up as to which he does first. Both are paying -120.
The topic of much conversation is what team jersey will Jason Kelce wear, Eagles of Chiefs? He’s been noncommittal when talking about it on his podcast, and right now, the Eagles jersey is the -400 favorite. A Chiefs jersey is a +1400 longshot, and a combination jersey of both teams, something he and Travis’s mother did two years ago, is paying +200.
Along with the two Super Bowl cities sharing the Kelce family, they are also known for signature food items, which will most likely be talked about at some point during the broadcast. For the first food to be mentioned, the Philly cheesesteak is paying -300, while Kansas City barbecue is at +200.
We know what network executives are rooting for in this final prop bet, as well as the NFL. What will the Nielsen Ratings be for the main broadcast of Super Bowl LIX – over 118.5 million viewers, or under? Last year, the official Nielsen number was 120.25 million.
